Renwable Energy Policy Workshop, 26-27 February 2011

An invitation from Lindsay Soutar , Campaign Coordinator 100% Renewable Community Campaign:

“Hi all,

I’ve just got back from a whirlwind visit to those hotbeds of climate action in regional Victoria – Castlemaine and Ballarat – and have been working with Dean and Andrew to firm up the 100% Renewable campaign plans for early 2011.

These plans include more joint letters to independents, online actions at the climate committee, surveying, doorknocking, letterboxing, making clear we’ll need measures beyond a carbon price if we want to build new renewables and raising a storm for a few lucky targeted MPs (maybe yours?!)…

But there’s no chance the existing 100% campaign team can make all this happen all on our own… We need your skills, ideas, creativity, hopes and dreams!

So to bring these in we’ve pulled together a workshop series for folk who are serious about winning strong renewable energy policy in 2011.

The Sydney workshop will be on 26-27 February 2011, Central Sydney venue TBD

Register now to join the workshop: http://100percent.org.au/civicrm/event/info?id=5&reset=1

This workshop will be perfect for you if you:
i) are planning to go out into your community to talk about renewable energy this year
want to be part of a high impact campaign that will win real steps to get renewable energy going;
ii) want to feel re-energised and re-motivated for a new year;
iii) want to build skills to build your group and engage new people:
iv) want be inspired by knowing others are working alongside you across the country.

Over 50 groups from all states and territories – from Wagga to Woodend, Cairns to Hobart, Tweed to Townsville have already registered to join the workshop series. These workshops are an important opportunity to plan how we can work together to ensure Australia starts to give renewable energy a fair go in 2011.

We’ll have top facilitators from The Change Agency, Karen Skinner the awesome union organiser that some of you will know and the 100% campaign team.

Register now at: http://100percent.org.au/civicrm/event/info?id=5&reset=1

We would encourage each group to send along at least two members of your group so that you can work together to plan your groups involvement.

Any questions give me a buzz, otherwise look forward to seeing you there!”

Waddaya say, CASEES?  Let’s get involved and sign up for this worthwhile workshop. 🙂
